Ketch Way – Residence, Marina del Rey

Designed for a UCLA professor, this project started as a 1970’s English pub-style apartment. With the condominium conversions, the client decided he wanted something modern and minimalist. The materials selected were to be clean and neutral, capitalizing on the proximity of the beach and sand. The sliding doors facing the ocean were designed to open up completely to maximize the indoor-outdoor feel.

East Channel Road – Residence, Santa Monica Canyon, CA

Handed down from the previous generation, the owners wanted this house to have a modern feel while still preserving pieces of the house that were important family reminders. Starting with a modest front elevation redesign, we proceeded to radically change the interior layout to allow for a more contemporary lifestyle. This included blue stone floors designed to reflect the octagonal characteristics of the owner’s inherited dining room table. Also included are soaring ceilings and natural finishes to offset the restored stained glass windows.

Gretna Green Way – Residence, Brentwood, CA

This duplex went through a radical transformation from traditional Mediterranean to a contemporary bachelor pad. The floor plan was opened up to allow for free flow and casual living with a chef’s kitchen. Materials selected included polished stone flooring, honed countertops and dark wood cabinets, along with leather furnishings to reflect the owner’s lifestyle. This duplex evolved from an economically constructed unit to a sleek and sophisticated residence.

Bainbridge Avenue – Residence, Westwood, CA

This traditional California colonial house was restored and renovated to accommodate the family’s passion for entertaining their clients, family and friends. A 1960’s Hawaiian porch was converted into an elegant and spacious family room. The kitchen was expanded to allow for catering and chef’s services and a downstairs children’s den was created to complete this family’s needs. The original 1940’s wallpaper and wainscoting were restored and were complimented with period-correct fixtures and furnishings.
